Week 8: Keep Your Pet Entertained During COVID-19

Welcome back, Cougar Paws for the Cause supporters.

First, we would like to thank you for all of the time and effort that you have put into this wonderful organization, Animeals on Wheels, over the past few months. They are more in need of your donations now than ever before with the current pandemic underway.

You are still able to drop off donations and submit monetary donations through their website. We ask that you give what you are able to during this trying, unconventional time. Thank you.

Are you currently stuck at home with you much loved furry companion for the foreseeable future? You are not alone. Right now, many people are in the same predicament. While you are able to go on many walks throughout the day- to stretch your dog’s legs as much as your own- this can become tiring. You need more options.

We understand. That is why we put together this quick post of some of our favorite cat toys and some of our favorite dog toys. You can find these both online and in your local Walmart or Target. However, if you choose to go to in a store to grab your pet something fun to play with, remember to exercise caution and use gloves and a mask.

Here are our favorite dog toys:

While a good old-fashioned tennis ball is one of the best toys for man’s best friend ever, here are some suggestions when you want to go above and beyond for your dog.

Nylabone DuraChew Textured Ring Flavor Medley Dog Toy, X-Large: Chewy.com

This textured ring is for the more hard-core chewers of the pack. Long-lasting and delicious to dogs of all sorts, this Nylabone Duachew is one of our favorites because it does not splinter off like some of the more conventional rawhides and bone chews do. This can cause harm to the dogs if they ingest those fragments. However, with this ring chew, that does not happen. Also, it is made right here in the United States. Isn’t that great?

As Seen on TV Wobble Wag Giggle Ball Squeaky Dog Toy: Chewy.com

As Seen on TV? This place has some of our favorite stuff for dogs and humans. Since we are discussing the doggie front today, however, we thought we would feature this squeaky toy. This wobbling ball makes all sorts of delightful to dogs noises. What dog would not want to chase this green and purple ball around the home during this time of social distancing? That’s what we thought.

Here are some of our favorite cat toys:

While the string you have around the house now is just as amazing as any of these toys for our meowing companions, below are some delights when we want them to really feel our love.

Frisco Cat Tracks Butterfly Cat Toy: Chewy.com

Balls and butterflies can make any cat toy about a thousand times better. Do you need an example of this? Look no further than the Frisco Cat Tracks Butterfly Toy. We love this cat toy from the bottom of our hearts. We all know that our little hunters love chasing things. This toy gives you the freedom to sit back and relax while they keep themselves entertained. What’s not to love?

Frisco Peek-a-Boo Cat Chute Cat Toy, Colorful Tri-Tunnel: Chewy.com

Wow, Frisco is just doing their best. They take the cake with both spots on our brief list of favorite cat toys. What cat does not love a good tunnel to zoom through? This toy has three tunnels for three times the fun.

Thank you again for joining us today for this round of toys to keep your pet entertained in this unusual time. Don’t forget to donate!
